What have I been up to over the past several years? Here's a sampling of how I've spent my time working for you, and what we’ve built together -
Created a residential sewer remediation program to assist homeowners with sewer issues on their property;
Invested in a safer Bexley by launching a community-focused Chief of Police search and supporting the expansion of a variety of community policing programs;
Led on local justice reforms by crafting a Mayors’ Court that focuses on diversion, restorative practices, and innovative programs designed to provide robust access to legal support for all;
Added athletic field space in the City with the development of Schneider Park - first athletic field expansion for decades;
Expanded community events to include the Main Event, Jazz in the Park, Smoke and Fire Festival, and moved the Labor Day Block Party to Main Street with integral support for the Bexley BrewFest, PorchFest, and the upcoming Into the Woods Festival;
Supported redevelopment on Main Street, including spurring the development of the Giant Eagle Market District, and working closely with restaurant and retail expansion on Main Street;
Led on sustainability intiatives, including designing and overseeing Ohio’s only curbside community food waste recycling initiative; instituting a single use plastic bag ban; expanding recycling to all commercial and multifamily properties; and providing renewable wind energy to all households in Bexley;
Created a Senior Center, with an initial pilot location to test the programming needs before seeking permanent, long-term space;
Expanded Jeffrey Mansion through grant funding, in order to provide new spaces for community activities and gatherings;
Launched the Year of the Parks initiative to create transformative new park spaces and amenities;
Developed and oversaw the design and installation of the north and south community gardens, providing award-winning community garden amenities to residents of Bexley and neighboring communities…
